Heute morgen habe ich über Twitter erfahren, dass ich als erste deutsche Journalistin den wichtigsten Preis für Reisejournalismus in Kanada gewonnen habe!
Der GoMedia Award zeichnet jedes Jahr die besten Reportagen (Print, TV, Foto) aus, die über Kanada veröffentlicht wurden. Der Preis wird von der Canadian Tourism Commission vergeben.
Um halb drei bin ich aufgewacht und checkte Twitter – da stand fest, dass ich im Finale bin! Ich war so aufgeregt und konnte schier nicht mehr einschlafen. Dieses Jahr fand die GoMedia, die wichtigste Reisebörse für Journalistin und Tourismusorganisationen in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island statt. Leider konnte ich in diesem Jahr nicht wie sonst in den vergangenen Jahren persönlich dabei sein.
Nachdem ich vor drei Jahren bereits für Sonntag Aktuell Finalistin war, hat es diesmal geklappt! Meine Geschichte über die Eisbären, die im Reisejournal der Badischen Zeitung erschienen ist, wurde gestern Nacht bei den Go Media Awards als beste internationale Reisegeschichte ausgezeichnet.
Soviel ich mitbekommen habe – das ist aber noch unbestätigt – war ich in gleich 3 Kategorien Finalistin: Print, Foto und Online/Blog/Video) – Update: Meine Beiträge waren in Text, Foto und Video im Finale.
Ich bin überwältigt und freue mich sehr, dass ich diesen Preis für die Badische Zeitung gewonnen habe!
Meine Videoreportage über eine Eisbärensafari auf der Seal River Lodge von Churchill Wild, die es bei den GoMediaAwards ebenfalls bis ins Finale geschafft hat.

This is the article that made us book the „Birds, Bears & Belugas“ adventure this summer! It was the trip of a lifetime, and the best thing we EVER did! The article still sits on my cupboard, and so do the most amazing images and videos of my portfolio. Congratulations and thank you again for giving us the t(r)ip!
